Established in 1989 Kevin Whibley started photographing students
at the then Hatfield Polytechnic now University of Hertfordshire. Graduating
that year Kevin moved back to Fleet in Hampshire where he started up as a local
photographer. Kevin continued to work photographing most of the Universities
and Colleges in the South of England. Whilst locally photographing weddings,
family portraits, press and commercial work. Kevin also worked for many of the
local schools in those early years right through to today photographing School
Proms and Year Group Photographs. Over the years Kevin was constantly travelling
from Canterbury to Bournemouth whilst regularly working in Winchester, Guildford,
Southampton and locally Farnborough, Farnham, Aldershot and Hook to name but
a few.
In 1995 Kevin decided it was time to put roots into the ground and he rented
his first shop on Branksomewood Road in Fleet. Here Kevin opened his first high
street studio. Here in his purpose built studio made the ideal location for
family and pet portraits. Here Kevin could enter into retail with his main line
being the retail of frames both bespoke and ready made for pictures and photographs.
This helped boost the business up and in 2000 it was time to move again. He
brought his next shop at 212 Fleet Road, Fleet. This gave him a vast amount
of space meaning a much bigger studio and large retail area. A year later there
was still enough room to put in a developing and printing laboratory. This lab
meant that all the printing was now done in house. This meant that the highest
quality could be achieved and Kevin could have full control of quality and ensure
the best possible results.
The increased retail area has brought about a new and exciting range of frames
with single and multi aperture designs to fit with both the modern fashions
and the demands of the traditional. Wedding albums are now available in traditional
and reportage styles. This flexibility of presentation of wedding photography
has brought about wonderful variety.
Captured Moment is the name of the Limited company Kevin brought in 2001. This
helped to bring about a stronger corporate identity and image whilst still utilising
the original name Kevin Whibley Photographers to ensure that 16 years of reputation
was not wasted.
Under the Captured Moment umbrella Kevin has brought out a number of great promotions
including Free Portrait Sittings,Tots 2 Teens and Family Portrait Plus. They
are now doing School and Charity promotions which allow the groups to raise
considerable sums of money.
